Efflorescence Quilt

A mid-century modern flower design inspired by a pattern seen on a beer can from Fieldwork Brewing in Sacramento, CA. After learning curves and twice-cut drunkards path from Jenny Haynes at Papper Sax Sten, my confidence and love for sewing curves was at it’s peak. I was learning my own style. Efflorescence is an opening up and coming into ones own, a period of productivity or blossoming. This quilt made in a just a week or two, was an important step in my development.

Made with stash, scrap, secondhand, and thrifted fabrics. Backing made with test block and offcuts from blocks on the front. Quilted with 12 wt Aurifil thread using walking foot design from Walk by Jacquie Gering.
